The HUB Package
This is one of our most exciting packages and has been developed with groups of head teachers. This package is designed to facilitate the hub model of school improvement. The package will be designed by you with the help of an allocated Hub School Improvement Partner who will act as your ‘plan holder’. Your School Improvement Partner will be able to discuss a range of activities that our hub schools have developed with us; your bespoke hub model can include any of these – or something completely different! Flexibility is key to this offer. Your SIP will be your single point of contact and will broker any planned support, as well as additional ad hoc support. Bespoke support will be provided through our amazing team of associates, so you have the best possible person providing the highest quality support. Your allocated SIP will always be part of our suggested ‘supportive review’ visits and will be on hand to provide ongoing advice and guidance to all schools within the Hub as part of this package.
Your allocated SIP will be able to advise you on what works well across hubs as well as any systems and processes that can support hub work. CPD sessions rely on attendance of all Hub members and work on a principle of CPD input, a gap task and then a review/feedback session. Schools have found that three twilights across the year works well – however many hubs work in different ways. Most existing hubs have focussed their CPD on developing a shared pedagogical approach across their schools to develop consistent and high-quality adaptive teaching to meet the needs of all learners, but again, other hubs have had a different focus.
If you are already working in a hub or cluster, or are interested in starting or creating a hub, please do make contact as we would love to help!
What's included in The HUB Package
- The SIP will act as the single plan holder for the schools within the hub and be your key point of contact.
- An initial planning meeting with the SIP and school leaders to share key school improvement priorities and develop the shared draft Hub Improvement Plan. If possible, dates for school visits, CPD and school supportive reviews are discussed. A ‘hub coordinator’ is chosen by the group and any terms of reference discussed.
- The SIP will write the Hub Improvement plan to share with school leaders, this then becomes a key area for your own school development plan. All dates are agreed and booked for the year.
- Review meetings, supported by the SIP, are also suggested to ensure that your plan is regularly reviewed by us all, so any changes or amendments can be made. We are also keen to receive immediate feedback following any input as well.
- If you are a new hub, we suggest a 'drop in' visit by the SIP so we can get to know each other.
- The SIP will broker all support from our team of expert associates to ensure you receive the highest quality support. Associates providing support will be in touch with the hub coordinator. CPD can include a range of activities, for example: PDMs, twilights, INSET, governance sessions and so on. We have also provided cluster meetings, middle leader support, coaching. We suggest that hubs also develop a peer review model as part of the plan.
- All schools will receive a school ‘supportive review’ led by the SIP and an associate advisor, so they develop an in depth understanding of the schools within the hub. This will enable the sharing of areas for development and best practice opportunities. The focus of the review is always led by the school, a timetable and plan for the day will be agreed before hand and a written report following the visit.
- The SIP will identify best practice opportunities across regions where appropriate to enable hubs to make links with a wider range of schools.
Additional days can bought individually and/or shared across the hub – we try our best to incorporate enough flexibility to do this through the year.
The SIP will provide ongoing support and guidance, wellbeing support and ad hoc support as needed. We are happy to receive emails, and if possible, will drop in to see you if need be. We want to be viewed as an extension of your team!
The SIP will collate feedback and quality assure all school improvement activities through regular feedback from the hub schools.
Cost: £2000 per school for the academic year.
