The SIP Packages

All schools are different, and any school can find itself in challenging circumstances at any time. Every member of the Melhoria team has been a head teacher - we know and understand the many challenges and stresses that come with the job, as well as the delights, love and passion that are also experienced. No two days are the same – and no two schools or head teacher are the same either! We aim to match our School Improvement Partners with each school to ensure that relationships can be developed over time, so we really get to know you and your school. We have designed a range of School Improvement packages for schools - all of which are flexible. Our approach to our school improvement work is to develop open, honest and trusted relationships with all our schools. To provide you with professional challenge and feedback, and to ensure that we are always available to offer support thought the year. We aim to be part of your team. All visits include a written not of visit to support your self-evaluation process.

The SIP Package A

This flexible package is designed to support individual schools to develop an ongoing relationship with their nominated SIP who can provide support and challenge through a range of activities. This may be in addition to hub work or as a standalone package.

3 days in school support (plus ongoing support/guidance and planning/write of all visits)

Suggested activities for this package are below but we are happy to change and amend these to suite your needs.

One day in school supportive review with either one or two members of our team. The focus to be agreed and the day planned with school leaders.
HTPM plus write up.
The equivalent of 1.5 days flexible support brokered by the nominated SIP to add capacity to school improvement activities.
The SIP will provide ongoing support and guidance, wellbeing support and ad hoc support as needed.
Discussion with inspectors if required.

Cost: £2000 (15% reduction for small schools of less than 120 pupils)

The SIP Package B

This basic package is focussed on an external review to support school leaders’ self-evaluation, identification of SDP priorities and to allow support for governors in regard to the head teacher performance management cycle.

2 days support (or equivalent plus ongoing telephone support)

One day in school supportive review with either one or two members of our team. The focus to be agreed and the day planned with school leaders.
HTPM plus write up.
The SIP will provide ongoing support and guidance, wellbeing support and ad hoc support as needed.

Cost: £1800

We have worked with Lesley and team for several years now and found her support to be excellent. I can vouch for this after working with various SIAs/SIPs over many years. Lesley is great at supporting schools herself but one of her great strengths is in finding the best people to do specific jobs, eg safeguarding support, continuous provision, coaching, and much more. Whatever it is, she knows someone who knows their stuff and can offer the right support! As an example, she was able to set us up with a school in Wiltshire who were inspirational and, at a difficult time for our school, helped us focus on the important things and really reinvigorated the leadership team.
